I didn’t realize that these guys used to be The Jakes. The Jakes is from Irvine, which is where I am, and the lead singer is a friend of a bunch of people I know. Nice. I didn’t know them, of course. I had heard this on the radio and liked it a lot.
Also, it’s pretty sweet to see that not only did a band from my high school become big but that they also feature minorities in their line-up. My dad was just telling me a few days ago that he doesn’t listen to American radio anymore because he doesn’t like how it was all the same people making hits in his POV.
