it’s really nothing like TT or YJ, but it sculpts a new universe that’s got an incredible amount of depth and intelligence and self-awareness that’s rarely seen on tv (live action or no) and in comics in general. Like… go into it going “this is a new universe, it’s not going to be anything like the comics” BUT IN A GOOD WAY @_@! A REALLY GOOD WAY. They’re not tethered by the bad things, and carefully take the good.

the most amazing thing? they made bruce the best daddy ; ; honestly, i think it surpasses the source material in leaps and bounds, it’s much more satisfying because characters have sensible, consistent characterizations that make sense. it’s like loving a song, and then someone does a remix of it and makes it a thousand times better. it takes the best things about the comics, and makes them make sense. 

are all the characterizations the same? no, not at all. but I LIKE these versions of the characters, they make sense and they GROW and it’s so cool to see people change. And they take back stories that make no sense and rewrite them in such perfect ways @_@!! Beastboy’s backstory remix is…fucking glorious. And just… ahhh @_@ people having feeling and relationships that make sennnnse @_@!! and behave in ways that are totally believeable.

No okay you’ve seriously sold me on this, haha. My list of shows to watch is so long now, but I’ll probably prioritize this one so I can keep up with my bb Bart. I like the idea of taking what’s good from the DC and putting it in something concise.
